Description
This 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi, chassis number 43263, is in restored and preserved condition with exceptionally low mileage. It is a superb example of Ferrari’s final Berlinetta Boxer. Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Crema leather interior and Rosso carpets, chassis number 43263 retains its original character and presents as a highly original, carefully maintained example of the model. It is one of the 1,007 fuel-injected 512 BBi models built between 1981 and 1984. Manufactured by Ferrari in late 1982, it was delivered new to the Belgian importer Garage Francorchamps. In 1985 the car was exported to the United States, where it entered a private collection and remained with the same long-term owner for most of its life, primarily in Florida and later Virginia. Around 2014 it was returned to Europe for restoration and inspection, including a full engine-out service, before being returned to the United States. The car retains its matching-numbers 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 engine (No. F110A 278) equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, paired with its original five-speed manual transaxle (No. F102CB 272). In 2014, while in the United Kingdom, the car successfully passed an MoT inspection and received a full engine-out service with new cam belts, after which it covered fewer than 100 miles. Accompanied by its original identification plates and matching chassis stamp, chassis number 43263 has been catalogued in major auctions and is recorded in the Maranello Archive. 7,300 actual miles.
