1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler 4-Speed

This 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler was re-powered with a 304ci V8 under previous ownership, and work following the seller’s purchase in 2021 is said to have included installing electronic ignition, power steering, and a Sony CD stereo, as well as a replacement center console and suspension components. Finished in black and burnt orange over tan upholstery, the truck is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, chrome-finished 15″ wheels, a removable hardtop, wood bed rails, high-back bucket seats, and a roll bar. This CJ-8 is now offered with a Carfax report and a Delaware title in the seller’s name. The Scrambler was introduced as a long-wheelbase pickup version of the CJ-7 for the 1981 model year. This example is finished in black with burnt orange accents and features a removable fiberglass hardtop as well as a roll bar, wood bed rails, hard doors, a swing-away spare tire carrier, a receiver hitch, and side-exit exhaust outlets in front of the rear wheels. The seller notes bubbling paint on the right quarter panel, and additional photos of the paint and trim condition are viewable in the gallery below. The Carfax report lists “minor damage” in a March 2023 entry, and the seller tells us that the hood was replaced following damage from a fallen tree branch.
