The reserve in this auction is reasonable to an early German Pre-Merger as the car represents and @AMG5pt4 's expertise confirmed, as well as the very kind DM's received from other potential bidders. Having cams could potentially bring the price up as well which is great. I have not been able to have our tech come by and open a perfectly running, not leaking, serviced 41 year old car. I've had a 1978 450 SEL 6.9, a 1992 500SEL (which was just rear ended and totaled) and an 1992 R129 600SL which was probably my favortite car ever. A pre-merger AMG would look lovely in the stable.
