1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet

Introduced in 1978, the Porsche 911 SC quickly solidified its reputation as a beloved variant of the iconic 911 lineage. Powered by a revised 3.0-liter flat-six engine, the SC offered robust power delivery and torque lower in the rev range, creating an exhilarating yet approachable driving experience. This engine, lauded for its reliability, represented a significant advancement over its predecessor, the 2.7-liter flat-six. Combined with a fully galvanized body shell, the SC stood out as a durable, long-lasting model within Porsche's lineup.‍Although Porsche initially intended to phase out the 911 in favor of the 928, the 911 SC's immense popularity secured its place in the marque’s future. By 1983, the 911 SC was available in coupe, Targa, and, for the first time, cabriolet body styles, marking a significant moment in Porsche history.‍Now offered for sale, Blue Chip is proud to present this extraordinary example of this one-year-only 911 SC Cabriolet, finished in rare and captivating Slate Blue Metallic over a Blue Leather interior with Blue Sport Seats. With just 19,425 documented miles, this car presents as a time capsule, boasting original paint, a new Stayfast canvas top, and service documentation from new. Recent maintenance highlights include a brake service performed in 2021 and a 2023 compression test with excellent results, underscoring the mechanical soundness of its 3.0L flat-six engine.‍This cabriolet also includes its original tool kit, books, and supporting documentation, all of which attest to its authenticity and careful preservation. While the car features a plastic dash cover that appears to have been glued over the original leather, this is a minor imperfection in an otherwise remarkable example.‍The 911 SC Cabriolet, with its engaging driving dynamics, reliability, and historical significance, remains a standout in the 911 lineage. This particular example, with its rare color combination, original features, and low mileage, offers an exceptional opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to own a defining piece of Porsche history.‍2023 Compression Test Results:#1 - 147psi#2 - 150psi#3 - 155psi#4 - 154psi#5 - 149psi#6 - 150psi‍
