1983 Renault Alpine

DescriptionRare. Exotic. Unmistakably French. This 1983 Renault Alpine A310 V6 GT is an exceptionally rare opportunity to own one of France's most distinctive performance cars, combining dramatic 1980s styling, lightweight construction, a rear-mounted V6 and a true 5-speed manual transmission. Even more compelling, this Alpine has benefited from more than $20,000 invested in mechanical service, chassis refurbishment, and preventative maintenance, making it a thoughtfully sorted example ready to be enjoyed. Finished in a striking custom blue exterior over tan leather, this A310 presents a beautiful color combination that accentuates its unmistakable wedge-shaped profile. With just 55,560 miles, it offers the kind of rarity, character and analog driving experience that has become increasingly difficult to find. Hand-built in Dieppe, France, the A310 was engineered around Alpine's motorsport-inspired philosophy of keeping weight low and driver involvement high. Its lightweight fiberglass body is mounted to a rigid steel backbone chassis, while power comes from the renowned 2.7-liter PRV V6, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and Alpine's signature rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Over $20,000 Invested in Mechanical & Chassis Refurbishment! Significant recent service and refurbishment has been performed to preserve the Alpine's performance, handling and drivability. Work includes front and rear suspension and bushing refurbishment, shocks, ball joints and sway-bar components; engine and transmission mounts; carburetor rebuilding; clutch master cylinder; cooling system hoses and service; brake service; transmission service; axle seal and oil-pan gasket; new tires and four-wheel alignment; and numerous additional mechanical and preventative-maintenance items. This level of investment is especially meaningful on a rare European classic, where properly sorting and maintaining the mechanical systems can be every bit as important as appearance. Behind the wheel, the A310 V6 GT delivers an experience that modern performance cars simply can't replicate. The combination of its lightweight construction, rear-mounted V6, manual gearbox and balanced chassis creates a wonderfully engaging, mechanical connection between car and driver. And then there's the design. Low, wide and unmistakably European, the A310 looks every bit the exotic today that it did in the 1980s. It is the kind of car that draws attention from enthusiasts who know exactly what they're looking at—and questions from everyone else. For the collector looking beyond the predictable choices, the 1983 Renault Alpine A310 V6 GT represents something genuinely special: French performance heritage, extraordinary rarity, unmistakable styling and an analog driving experience wrapped into one unforgettable automobile. Whether destined for a collection, weekend drives or simply to be enjoyed as the conversation piece it naturally is, this Alpine offers a rare opportunity to own a European performance car you are unlikely to see parked next to another.
