1984 BMW 325e Base

I bought this 1984 BMW 325e in late 2025 because I wanted to dive into E30 ownership, learn the cars, turn some wrenches, and steadily sort one out. That’s exactly what this car became. After a year of mechanical work, dozens of small repairs and improvements, and a cosmetic refresh, I’ve now bought the E30 I’ve been chasing and simply don’t have garage space for two.

About: This 1984 BMW 325e is a five speed manual acquired by the current owner in the fall of 2025. It has since had extensive mechanical work, a repaint, and refurbishment. It shows approximately 233761 miles. Work in November 2025 at Car Tender in Shoreline included a compression test with healthy results, cylinder head removal and machining, head gasket replacement, timing belt replacement, ignition and fuel system service, and exhaust work. The alternator was replaced in May 2026. The car rides on 14-inch BMW bottle cap wheels with General Altimax tires, and a second set of 17-inch wheels and tires is included. An aftermarket Megan Racing suspension is fitted, providing a firm ride. The exterior was sanded and repainted in 2026 and retains minor imperfections including small dings. Features include European smiley headlights, tucked bumpers, power mirrors, a power sunroof, central locking and a Bluetooth stereo. The air conditioning is inoperative. On cold mornings, the tachometer and coolant temperature gauge may remain inactive until warm-up, after which they operate normally. The shifter exhibits play. A binder of records from the current ownership is included along with spare parts, original headlights, and the extra wheel set. It’s offered following the owner’s acquisition of another E30.
