1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade

Introduced in 1976 by American Motors Corporation (AMC), the CJ-7 featured a 10-inch longer wheelbase than the older CJ-5. This extra length vastly improved handling safety and allowed for square doors that could finally seal out the elements. The Renegade package was designed to capture the youth culture of the late 1970s and 1980s. It took a spartan, military-derived workhorse and transformed it into a lifestyle statement. By 1984, with its bold, multi-colored hood graphics and high-back bucket seats, the Renegade was a staple on sun-drenched beaches, mountain trails, and pop culture television sets like MacGyver
