1985 Porsche 930 Turbo

The Porsche 930 Turbo, introduced in the mid-1970s, was initially developed to meet FIA Group 4 and Group 5 homologation requirements, with technology derived from the race-dominating Porsche 917/30 Can-Am car. The result was a road car that could hold its own against Ferrari and Lamborghini, and quickly became the crown jewel of the 911 lineup. By 1985, the 930 Turbo had evolved into a 3.3-liter, flat-six turbocharged powerhouse, capable of producing a thrilling 300 horsepower. Paired with Porsche’s famed four-speed manual transmission, it delivered blistering performance and demanded respect on the road.‍The distinctive whale-tail rear spoiler not only enhances the car’s aggressive profile but serves a functional purpose, increasing cooling to the rear-mounted engine while providing essential aerodynamic downforce. Flared wheel arches, widened rear tires, and Porsche’s precision-engineered suspension work together to offer a driving experience that is fast, exhilarating, and—when handled with skill—unmatched by most other cars of the era.‍Now offered for sale, Blue Chip is proud to present this 1985 Porsche 930 Turbo, finished in Slate Blue over a Black Leather interior. A European-spec example, this 930 was imported to the United States through the State of California in 1986. The paint is mostly original, with some paintwork evident on the hood, roof, and passenger rear fender. There are zero signs of an accident or body damage and all paintwork appears to be merely cosmetic. The brakes were replaced in 2017, just a few thousand miles ago, and a recent cold compression test reads 100 psi across all six cylinders. ‍Available with just 43,188 original miles, this 1985 930 Turbo comes complete with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, documentation, and a clean title.
