It is normal for each panel to have slightly different readings commensurate with wear, how the paint was applied from the factory, etc. We took these photos recently as requested, and we didn't perfectly line up our meter with our previous meter reading spots- however, if you look at each panel measured, the readings are incredibly consistent from both sessions. I lived in Philadelphia and the car was in NY, the owner never mentioned it being a 5 speed thinking it will turn potential buyers away. I loved everything about it and sold it in 6 months for $2500. Since then, have owned a Euro 190 (no fuel injection) - 4 speed, and two 190D five speeds and love everything about them. We are right there with you- it has been an incredibly long time since we've come across a one owner, low mileage, 5 speed W201 that has not been modified! This example is a true time capsule; the scent of the interior immediately makes us reminisce and takes us right back to the 1980s. The fine example in this auction should do well as there aren't many W201s left in this condition with this low mileage and service records. U.S. market 5 speed W201s are also very rare. My current W201 and I will be watching this auction with great interest in the outcome. This would be a great car for a long time MB enthusiast who'll love this car for what it is. The W201 is Bruno Sacco's best.
