1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL AMG Tribute

52 CommentsPosted as: ClearPOST COMMENT November 13th, 2025 at 4:18pm ESTSwissBliss (40) 2@VerbalKent - That was exactly what I was getting at. There was a similar SEC AMG Tribute that sold here recently, I know Amit and he set reserve way too low (sold for like 38k). The only way to really make a profit is if you do the labor yourself / have a shop with subsidized/free labor. I suppose I am trying to warn people that this is a project to be undertaken only if you have the passion, and it amazed me to see people build something so great only to sell it very soon thereafter. I am about 50k-75k+ upside down in mine and could not fathom selling once complete. To each their own! Extremely nice build @jhp2024 and well bought @m_one ! Be sure to update us on BenzWorld - the w126 community is superb!November 13th, 2025 at 4:11pm ESTVerbalKent (1) 0@m_one I daresay that you've more than made up for it with this one...again, well done!!November 13th, 2025 at 4:08pm ESTm_one (2) 1@VerbalKent - yes ! You have a good memory. She was a beauty also. And the MLB history was cool on that one.November 13th, 2025 at 4:07pm ESTm_one (2) 1Thank you jhp. Look forward to enjoying the beautiful car you have built. I’ll be in touch for next steps shortly. November 13th, 2025 at 4:07pm ESTVerbalKent (1) 0Well done @m_one...that Hammer tribute that got away for a $500 delta must've incentivized you :-)November 13th, 2025 at 4:07pm ESTWonderAMG (5) 1Congrats to the new owner! Amazing spec right here!November 13th, 2025 at 4:06pm ESTJhp2024 (8) Seller 0congratulations @M_one taking a n awesome car !!! unique November 13th, 2025 at 4:04pm ESTVerbalKent (1) 0@SwissBliss Seller is more than likely still upside down as of this post...figure about $20-25K to get it in the first place, and I'd venture there's north of $40K in AMG-ing it...add to that the fact that modding a car to this level is even more expensive in Cali, and well...you get the idea.November 13th, 2025 at 4:03pm EST$61,500 bid placed by @m_oneNovember 13th, 2025 at 4:03pm EST$61,000 bid placed by @digzoberNovember 13th, 2025 at 4:01pm EST$60,500 bid placed by @m_oneNovember 13th, 2025 at 4:00pm EST$60,000 bid placed by @digzoberNovember 13th, 2025 at 4:00pm ESTSwissBliss (40) 1@jhp2024 - Yes, that was the one, it was linked by @StuttgartClassix earlier in the auction. Usually when we see a relatively low mile car picked up, transformed with major modifications (usually cosmetic), and then relisted- the intention of the buyer/seller is to make a quick profit. It doesn't always work out (this one seems to have, depending on labor costs -- which is why I was asking if he was affiliated with CMS.. A black/black 560SEL is getting harder to find. Appears to be a very nice example. CMS does amazing work as well, I should add. Great group of people. I built this to the intention of keeping it. But decided ito reduce the inventory and keep other collectibles. November 13th, 2025 at 3:35pm ESTTakeflight (10) 0@SwissBliss Are you talking about the listing from over a year ago when it didn't meet reserve on Bat? Looks like that was prior to all of the work the seller has done to it and the euro/AMG conversion too. Tough to make any kind of comparison thereNovember 13th, 2025 at 3:30pm EST$38,225 bid placed by @m_oneNovember 13th, 2025 at 3:07pm EST$37,725 bid placed by @2018trackhawkNovember 13th, 2025 at 3:02pm ESTSwissBliss (40) 2@seller - as has been mentioned, this car was purchased recently from BaT. Are you affiliated with CMS, or did you just purchase this with the intent to make a quick profit? Very curious intentions, and I suspect we will see more of these come out of the woodwork due to the rise in SEC values. The question here, will the rise in coupe values also translate to the sedans? We shall see ---> GLWA!November 13th, 2025 at 2:38pm EST$37,166 bid placed by @LsantiniNovember 13th, 2025 at 2:26pm EST$36,666 bid placed by @apoosterNovember 13th, 2025 at 1:12pm ESTJhp2024 (8) Seller 0@Safa80 the euro headlights are bosch, original , need to clarify t
