This 1987 Oldsmobile 442 is a well-preserved, low-mile example showing just 46,000 miles. Built on the Cutlass Supreme platform, the final-year 442 represents the end of Oldsmobile’s rear-wheel-drive performance era, combining classic G-body proportions with a factory performance package that still holds up today. Under the hood, the car retains its correct 5.0L V8 paired with the desirable 200-4R overdrive automatic transmission. Factory-equipped with a 3.42 rear axle ratio and dual exhaust, the drivetrain delivers the balance of acceleration and highway drivability these cars are known for. This example is also equipped with a limited-slip differential (G80), an option not found on every 442 and a meaningful advantage for both performance and collectability. The suspension is the proper FE3 sport setup specific to the 442 package, giving the car a tighter, more controlled feel than a standard Cutlass. It rides on factory aluminum wheels and maintains the correct stance and presence expected from a genuine 442. This car is well-optioned, featuring power windows, power door locks, tilt steering column, cruise control, factory air conditioning, and rear window defrost. Inside, it is equipped with a center console and floor shifter, along with a factory AM/FM audio system and upgraded speaker configuration. A notable and less common feature is the factory sunroof, adding both light to the cabin and an extra layer of desirability. Cars equipped this way tend to stand apart, especially when combined with the 442 package and low mileage. The exterior has recently undergone a complete repaint at our in-house body shop. The finish presents cleanly and evenly, giving the car a refreshed appearance while maintaining its original character. This was not a quick respray but a proper refinish intended to bring the car back to a high standard. Overall, this is a legitimate, well-optioned 1987 442 with low mileage, the right drivetrain configuration, and a strong cosmetic presentation. It represents a solid opportunity for someone looking for a clean, honest example of the final-year rear-wheel-drive 442.
