Vehicle Description 1988 Cadillac DeVille Zoom Classic Cars presents this one owner 1988 Cadillac Deville Sedan with only 34K Original Miles! The 1988 DeVille was powered by Cadillac’s new 4.5-liter DFI V8, rated at 155 hp and 240 lb-ft, coupled to a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Cadillac literature highlighted the engine’s digital fuel injection and onboard computer diagnostics as important technology for the period. What you see is a particularly nice opportunity to own a 1988 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with just 34,000 original miles, remaining with its original owner from new and recently brought out of long-term storage. The 1988 model year was an important period for Cadillac, representing the evolution of the DeVille into a more modern front-wheel-drive luxury sedan while retaining many of the traditional characteristics that made Cadillac synonymous with American luxury. The DeVille was a substantial automobile, measuring nearly 197 inches in length, with generous passenger accommodations and the quiet, comfortable ride expected from Cadillac. Under the hood is Cadillac\'s 4.5-liter V8, a technologically advanced engine for its day featuring Digital Fuel Injection and onboard computer diagnostics. The 4.5-liter produced approximately 155 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, providing smooth, effortless performance rather than the high-strung characteristics of a sports car. Power is delivered through Cadillac\'s four-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive system. This particular DeVille is finished in an attractive Blue exterior over a Blue leather interior, giving the car the quintessential upscale Cadillac appearance of the period. The combination of the traditional formal styling, plush leather interior, extensive power equipment, and unmistakable Cadillac presence makes this a terrific example of the late-1980s American luxury automobile.Even more desirable is the fact that this has been a one-family owned automobile, providing an unusually well-preserved example of a DeVille from this era. The car was recently removed from long-term storage and has been thoroughly gone through to bring it back to reliable running and driving condition. Recent work includes: New headliner, Four brand-new tires, All-new brake lines and the Air conditioning converted to R134a and blowing cold. The 1988 DeVille is particularly appealing today because it captures an interesting moment in Cadillac history. The company was incorporating increasingly sophisticated electronics and computer-controlled systems into its cars while still producing automobiles with the size, comfort and formal styling associated with traditional American luxury cars. For today\'s collector, these cars offer something increasingly uncommon: an honest, original-feeling example of an American luxury automobile from the 1980s that isn\'t trying to be something it isn\'t. It is not a modern performance car, nor is it a heavily modified custom. It is a well-preserved Cadillac DeVille from the period when owning a Cadillac was a genuine statement of success and luxury. This DeVille would make an excellent addition to a collection of American classics, a terrific weekend cruiser, or simply a unique opportunity to experience what Cadillac luxury was all about during the 1980s. It starts, runs and drives well and presents extremely well for a 38-year-old automobile. Solid rust free car. Clean undercarriage with minor surface only.
