1988 Chevrolet Corvette Custom

Vehicle Description 1988 Chevrolet Corvette $16,000 "Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is excited to digitally present this 1988 Chevrolet Corvette Custom, presented in a striking granite metallic exterior paired with a light brown leather interior that will stand out on any road! This classic is powered by a robust 5.7 Tune Port V8 engine paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission, offering a driving experience that seamlessly blends power and precision. 1988 was a special year because it was Corvette's 35th Anniversary so a number of improvements were made as if a Corvette isn't impressive enough already! The L98 engine got a bump in HP due to the addition of a free breathing cylinder heads, a reprofiled camshaft and a less restrictive muffler package on the coupes only. Larger 17x9.5-inch wheels with meaty P275/40ZR-17 Goodyear Eagle GT ""Z-Rated"" tires were offered and this was the 1st car to have wheels that large. Inside, the Corvette is equipped with features designed for convenience. The air conditioning system ensures a pleasant cabin environment, while the AM/FM radio and cassette tape player provide entertainment options for your journeys. The leather interior is complemented by power seats with lumbar support, allowing for optimal comfort on long drives. Power locks, power windows, and power steering further enhance the driving experience, making every trip effortless. Safety and performance are at the forefront with features such as power brakes, seatbelts, and performance tires. The Corvette is fitted with rally wheels and offers both bias ply and radial tire options, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride. Now that we got that covered let me take you back to 1989 when a New York man won a TV contest granting him 36 Corvettes, 1 for each year Corvette was in production. Those Corvettes were sold to a famous artist who put them in storage, and they were forgotten about until discovered in 2005. After being discovered they were separated and sold to new owners including the gentleman selling this beauty which was part of the collection. Whether you're a collector or an enthusiast, this 1988 Chevrolet Corvette Custom stands as a remarkable example of automotive history.
