This European-market 1988 Volkswagen Golf GTI was swapped with the powertrain and interior of a 2003 Audi TT under previous ownership in Greece. It was previously listed on BaT in January 2025 , and was purchased by the seller on BaT in January 2025 before it was imported to the US later that year. Finished in metallic blue over black leather, the car is powered by a turbocharged 20-valve 1.8L inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Modifications include a K064 turbocharger, a short-ram air intake, an aftermarket intercooler, a Forge diverter valve, a high-performance cat-back exhaust, a custom ECU tune, MkIII VR6 front and rear subframes, an Ultra Racing front subframe brace, OMP strut tower braces, Eibach springs, Bilstein dampers, TT front brakes, 16″ Schmidt Revolution wheels, an OMP steering wheel, heated front seats, a B&M shifter, and an Alpine CD stereo. Service under current ownership included changing the oil, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the battery, camshaft position sensor, purge solenoid, fuel pumps, and ignition components. This TT-swapped MKII Golf shows 94k kilometers (~58k miles) and is offered at no reserve with a clean US Carfax report and a Virginia title in the seller’s name. The car is said to have been stripped to bare metal and was repainted metallic blue under previous ownership, at which time the front fenders, exterior lighting, and black plastic trim were replaced. Exterior details include fog lights, quad headlights, amber side markers, dual side mirrors, a steel sunroof, a rear window wiper, tinted taillights, and twin slash-cut exhaust outlets. The windshield washers do not work as the washer reservoir was removed during the build.
