1989 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer

From its founding in 2009, Singer Vehicle Design has redefined what a classic Porsche 911 can become—melding reverence for Stuttgart’s air-cooled past with obsessive, modern-day craftsmanship. Each commission begins with a 964-series 911 and undergoes a total transformation: stripped to bare metal, seam-welded, fitted with carbon fiber bodywork, and reimagined into a bespoke, motorsport-grade instrument of driving joy. This example, Chassis CA0141, began life as a 1989 Porsche 911 and was commissioned by a U.S.-based client with final delivery in Vail, Colorado. Finished in Porsche Stone Grey, a subtle, tailored hue from Singer’s Specially Formulated Paint Collection, it is paired with Oxblood leather upholstery, brass grommet seat inserts, and ivory perforated headlining—yielding a visual and tactile experience that evokes both pre-impact-era elegance and endurance-racer functionality. At its heart lies Singer’s celebrated 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, Emtron engine management, and a ceramic-finished intake plenum. Free of catalytic converters and backed by a grey ceramic exhaust system, the engine delivers not only visceral power, but the kind of razor-sharp throttle response and sonic clarity no longer found in the modern era. RS+ cams, upgraded cooling systems, and an external center-fill fuel system complete the performance envelope.Beneath the surface, the car is equipped with Ohlins two-way adjustable suspension, premium Brembo calipers with high-performance rotors, and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber. Steering feel, brake modulation, and overall balance are all calibrated for spirited use, offering a direct connection between machine and driver that only the very best analog sports cars provide. The cabin is a masterclass in bespoke detailing: carbon bucket seats (with a widened driver’s shell), marine-grade leather in the compartments, a 917-style balsa shift knob, custom Prototipo steering wheel, early-style gauges in black with green markers and nickel trim, and floor mats quilted in Oxblood with black edging. The instrumentation reads in MPH, Fahrenheit, and PSI, grounding the experience firmly in classic 911 language, while Apple CarPlay, a Dynaudio sound system, and upgraded Audison amplification offer discreet modern convenience.Additional exterior details include ghosted Oxblood racing stripes and decklid lettering, nickel Singer badging, Singer Racing Red calipers, RSR wheels with black-background centers, and a clear-film protection applied to the forward surfaces. Decorative bumperettes are body-color matched, and no rear reflectors were spec’d, contributing to a seamless, monochromatic presentation.Singer’s process results in far more than a restomod—it is a redefinition of what it means to own a Porsche. With build slots limited and each car commissioned through an exhaustive, months-long process, this Reimagined 911 stands among the most exclusive and collectible air-cooled Porsche builds ever conceived. This particular vehicle represents a rare opportunity to acquire a fully sorted, tastefully specified Singer 4.0L Coupe without the multi-year wait—ready for both concours display and canyon carving alike.
