Description
Rolls-Royce Corniche II Convertible 1989 A true concours example with only 16,000 miles! ~~ Click HERE to see many high resolution photos ~~ First and foremost, the introduction to this description is paramount; this is the most immaculate and “like-new” late 80s Corniche convertible you will find anywhere. So spectacular in its exemplary condition and presentation, you would be well and truly forgiven to think you are looking at a 4 or 5 year old example. She is stunning!! An incredibly fine example of a Corniche II convertible finished in Masons black with rich tan Connolly hide interior with all matching Wilton wool carpets and as-new factory mouton overlays. The coach-lines are elegantly contrasted in gold. Mileage is an incredible 16,652! The Corniche design with its signature rear quarter “hip-line” is unquestionably one of the most elegant of coach-work designs provided by Rolls-Royce’s coach-builder – Mulliner Park-Ward. It has tested the time for elegance and style enduring no less than 30 years in production (1966-1996). This being a 1989 model, it has most of the engineering upgrades and product features introduced over the maturity cycle of the model. It is often considered that the 1989 is the best year for Corniche, without some of the issues of both earlier AND later cars. The only modification to this car is the Pioneer stereo system which is a bit of a shame from an originality point of view but technologically far superior to the original system. For the purist, we are happy to look at sourcing an original unit for fitment but for their substandard performance, we would probably recommend leaving what is there. This Corniche II is a 2-owner car with the second more recent owner being a seasoned Rolls-Royce collector and RROC member that has babied the car and only ever used her for shows and display. She has won several awards. More importantly, the first and original owner was Friendly’s Restaurant chain’s; Prestley Blake. For those not familiar, the first Friendly’s Restaurant was opened in 1935 which grew to a very impressive chain of 850 Friendly’s Restaurants US-wide. Prestley Blake died in 2021 at the great age of 106. Wikipedia ~ Prestley Blake Prestley Blake owned many Rolls-Royces to include both vintage and modern. He bought this Corniche brand new in 1989. As you would expect with only 16,000 miles, is like new and drives incredibly well having been maintained correctly by Rolls-Royce sepcialits. The car will, of course, still undergo Park-Ward Motors’ Predelivery Commissioning process before the new owner takes possesion to ensure everything is behaving as it should. Nothing more can really be said about this example other than to reiterate, she is as “perfect” as you could possibly expect. Please take the time to look at all the pictures to best appreciate how fine this Corniche II is. As a darling example, please do expect to pay a strong price. This is a 100% turn-key example that needs nothing but to be enjoyed and driven. Let there be no doubt, this is a show-quality example. ~~ A truly immaculate show-quality example Corniche II. To emphasise, I repeat; show-quality example, in very masculine Masons Black with tan Connolly leather. ~~ International buyers always welcome ~ we have sold and shipped 100’s world-wide.
