1990 Chevrolet Corvette

1990 ZR1 Corvette Only 6,869 Original Miles 6-Spd Black On Black Collector This 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is an exceptional, collector-grade example of one of the most significant performance cars ever produced by General Motors, showing just 6,869 original miles since new and presented in an iconic black-on-black color combination. From its engineering to its documentation, this ZR-1 stands as a time-capsule representation of Chevrolet's no-compromise supercar program at the dawn of the 1990s. At the heart of the ZR-1 is the legendary 5.7-liter LT5 MPFI DOHC 32-valve V8, a hand-assembled aluminum powerhouse developed with Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. Paired with the factory 6-speed manual transmission and the ZR-1 Special Performance Package, this drivetrain delivers smooth yet ferocious performance that set new standards for American cars of the era. Power is sent through the rear wheels with authority, complemented by the ZR-1's specific wide-body panels, heavy-duty brake system, and advanced chassis engineering that gave the car world-class handling and stability. Finished in deep black, the exterior remains crisp and correct, highlighting the ZR-1's aggressive stance, flared rear quarters, and unique badging. The car rides on its original staggered 17-inch ZR-1 wheels measuring 17x9.5 up front and 17x11 in the rear, wrapped in the correct performance tire sizes. The removable blue-tinted glass option roof is included along with the matching sun shade panel, offering versatility while maintaining originality. Original inspection stickers from new have been carefully preserved and are included, further underscoring how meticulously this car has been cared for. Inside, the black leather adjustable sport seats with 6-way power for both driver and passenger remain in excellent condition, reinforcing the car's low-mileage status. The cockpit is equipped with electronic air conditioning, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, and the Delco Bose Gold Series sound system, blending performance with luxury in true ZR-1 fashion. Selective Ride & Handling further enhances the driving experience, allowing the car to feel equally at home on a smooth highway or a spirited back road. What truly elevates this ZR-1 into a different category is its extraordinary level of documentation and originality. Included are three original window stickers, a laminated build sheet, original dealer brochure, original dealer paperwork, and the original ZR-1 box complete with leather case engraved with the VIN. Also included is the original unopened ZR-1 VHS tape, manuals, emergency key, and the correct ZR-1 performance key. The headlight gears have been upgraded with an improved version for reliability, while preserving the car's factory character. Despite its collector status, the car runs and drives excellent, making it as enjoyable to operate as it is to admire. With an original MSRP of $60,310, this ZR-1 represented the absolute pinnacle of Chevrolet performance when new. Today, examples with this level of mileage, completeness, originality, and documentation are increasingly rare. This is a true collector-quality ZR-1, preserved with care and offered as an outstanding opportunity to own one of the most important Corvettes ever built, in one of its most timeless and desirable configurations.
