1990 GMC Sierra 1500

Vehicle Description 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 $29,997 1990 GMC Sierra C1500 — Black over Red, 350 V8, Lowered Custom Build with a Clean Undercarriage Why This Car Is Special The 1990 GMC Sierra C1500 occupies a unique position in American truck history. By 1990, the GMT400 platform — which replaced the long-running square-body in 1988 — had only been on the market for two years. The new body was smoother, more aerodynamic, and more refined than anything GMC had offered in a full-size pickup before it. That said, the trucks still carried the mechanical DNA that made the previous generation so durable: a solid front axle replaced by a proper independent front suspension, a recirculating-ball power steering box, and the option of GMC's proven small-block V8. The Sierra name itself had been used as a trim designation on the C/K trucks since the 1970s before becoming its own model line, and by 1990 it represented the premium end of GMC's full-size truck lineup. What makes this particular 1990 GMC Sierra C1500 worth your attention is the combination of things that are hard to find together: a genuine 350ci 5.7L V8, a clean undercarriage confirmed on the lift, a full complement of factory power accessories, and a custom build that was executed with restraint. The truck sits lower than stock on U.S. Mags custom wheels, wears a black exterior, and carries a fully intact red cloth interior that shows honest wear rather than neglect. The odometer reads 143,286 miles, which for a 350-powered half-ton with this level of overall presentation is a number that tells a story of use rather than abuse. The VIN confirms this is a C-series truck, meaning two-wheel drive — which is precisely why the stance works. Without the front axle and differential adding height and complexity under the front end, a lowered two-wheel-drive Sierra sits flat and proportionate in a way the four-wheel-drive versions simply cannot match. It also makes the undercarriage significantly easier to inspect and maintain, and the photos here show a floor that has been painted rather than rusted. In 1990 truck trim, the L05 350 was rated at 210 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, fed through a throttle-body fuel injection system that GMC called TBI. Compared to the carburetor setups that preceded it, TBI made cold starts easier and fuel delivery more consistent across a wide range of temperatures and altitudes. The engine photos show a clean bay with the GM Goodwrench 350 air cleaner decal intact, suggesting the engine has not been significantly modified or torn apart. The accessory drive belt routing sticker is still present on the radiator shroud, which is a detail that tends to disappear on trucks that have been heavily worked on. The automatic transmission — a 700R4 (also known as the 4L60 by 1990) — is a four-speed overdrive unit that drops engine RPM noticeably at highway speeds compared to the older three-speed TH350. This makes the 1990 GMC Sierra C1500 a genuinely comfortable highway truck, not just a show piece that wears out quickly in traffic. Power brakes with front disc brakes round out the mechanical story. The rear brakes are drums, which was standard for this class of truck at the time. The undercarriage photographs are the most important part of this listing for a buyer who knows trucks. The frame rails, floor pans, and crossmembers visible in the
