Description
This 1991 BMW M3 coupe was purchased by the seller in 1994 and subsequently modified for track use in NASA, BMW Car Club of America, and Midwestern Council of Sports racing events. The car reportedly secured the NASA Midwest Regional Championship in the GTS5 class in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2014, as well as multiple class lap records with the seller at the wheel. Power comes from a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six with a DTA S100 ECU tune, while shifting is via a five-speed manual transmission and a Diffsonline limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gearing. The white coupe rides on 17″ Kosei K1 wheels and is further equipped with AST Suspension three-way adjustable dampers with remote reservoirs, Hyperco and AST Suspension springs, Wilwood brake calipers, and a carbon-fiber rear wing. The stripped cabin houses a roll cage, a single Sparco bucket seat, a multi-point harness, a MOMO steering wheel, and a fire-suppression system. This E30 M3 race car is now offered with spare parts, service records, dynamometer results, log books, and an Illinois title in the seller’s name. The car is finished in Alpine White with tri-color decals and has been fitted with a fiberglass EVO-style front valance with cooling ducts as well as a fiberglass hood, front fenders, sunroof filler panel, rear bumper, and front and rear undertrays. The headlights and front indicators have been removed, while Lexan windscreens and side windows have been installed. The hood has a cooling duct for the radiator, and further exterior details include a front splitter, carbon-fiber dive planes, carbon-fiber side mirrors, tow straps, and an APR Performance carbon-fiber rear wing with a gurney flap.
