KEY FACTS This E34-generation BMW Alpina B10 Bi-Turbo is an iconic and technically advanced modern classic performance saloon, number 380 of just 507 examples produced. It is powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged ‘M30’ inline-six, delivering around 365PS and 520 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a five-speed Getrag manual transmission. First registered in 1992, it was previously registered in Germany and is now located in Poland. The odometer indicates 176,361 km, though this is not warranted. Number 380 of just 507 examples produced, this B10 Bi-Turbo is considered one of the most technically advanced cars ever to leave the Alpina factory. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES Based on the E34-era BMW 535i, the B10 Bi-Turbo underwent such extensive engineering modifications that it can almost be regarded as an entirely redesigned vehicle. At its heart lies the legendary BMW M30 inline-six engine, extensively modified by Alpina engineers. Among its most significant upgrades are two water-cooled Garrett turbochargers and an electronically controlled boost pressure system, allowing the driver to adjust boost pressure between 0.4 and 0.8 bar. At the time of its introduction, these modifications made the B10 Bi-Turbo one of the fastest production saloons in the world. The B10 Bi-Turbo also features a specially developed Bilstein suspension system and an additional Alpina digital instrument display allowing the driver to monitor several important parameters, including the rear differential oil temperature, turbocharger boost pressure, and engine oil pressure.
