1993 Cadillac Allante Official Pace Car Edition with 4K original miles

West Coast Classics are proud to present this 1993 Cadillac Allante 'Official Pace Car Edition' with only some 4K original miles and in virtually complete showroom flawless condition throughout! This is a rare "Northstar" edition, representing the model's peak performance year before production ended. Given its 4,464 miles and history within the renown Dane Miller Collection since new, it is likely one of the most well-preserved examples in existence.Based on reports from the 1992 Indy 500/Detroit Grand Prix pace car programs, 30 special 1993 Cadillac Allantes (maroon with tan interior) were produced and assigned to track officials for the Indy 500, with only maybe 3 to have actually been used, with these same remaining 1993 models being shipped to the Detroit Grand Prix held shortly after on June 7, 1992.Detroit Grand Prix: After the Indianapolis 500, the 1993 Allantes (and a GMC Syclone) were reportedly shipped to the Detroit Grand Prix.  Key Highlights of this Allante:  The "Air Bridge" Pedigree: Its Pininfarina body was flown from Italy to Detroit via specially equipped Boeing 747s for final assembly, one of the most expensive production loops in automotive history. Pace Car Heritage: The 1993 Allante served as the pace car for the 1992 Detroit Grand Prix; this specific car's decals and low mileage suggest it may have been a promotional or track-used vehicle from that event. Performance Peak: Unlike earlier models, this 1993 version features the 295-hp Northstar V-8, which solved many of the performance criticisms leveled at the car during its initial 1987 launch. Preservation: Having been stored in a climate-controlled environment since 1992, the leather, wood trim, and complex electronics (which can be temperamental on high-mileage units) are likely in museum-grade condition.Clean CARFAX and 4,464 milesDetroit Grand Prix Pace Car EditionAcquired by The Dane Miller Collection in 1992American engineering paired with a stylish Italian Pininfarina bodyIntroduced as Cadillacs flagship personal luxury convertible, the Cadillac Allante represented one of General Motors most ambitious engineering and branding efforts of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Conceived to challenge European rivals such as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar, the Allante paired American power and comfort with Italian design flair, its crisp bodywork penned and built by Pininfarina in Italy before being air-freighted to Detroit for final assembly, a remarkable and costly logistical feat that underscored Cadillacs commitment to the project.By 1993, the Allante had reached its most refined and capable form. Under the hood was Cadillacs advanced 4.6-liter Northstar V-8, producing 295 horsepower and delivering smooth, confident performance through a four-speed automatic transmission. The fully independent suspension, speed-sensitive steering, and four-wheel disc brakes reflected Cadillacs push toward modern grand-touring dynamics without sacrificing ride comfort.Luxury was the Allantes defining trait. The interior featured hand-stitched leather upholstery, real wood trim, power-adjustable seating with memory, and automatic climate control. A power-operated soft top and available aluminum hardtop enhanced year-round usability. Today, the 1993 Cadillac Allante stands as a fascinating symbol of Cadillacs determination to redefine itself at the dawn of the modern luxury era.American engineering paired with a stylish Italian Pininfarina body, The Dane Miller Collection acquired this example in 1992 and has since stored it in their two-story climate-controlled collection building. Finished in a pleasing Dark Red over a light tan interior, the body is pinned with various decals indicating it was used on the track as a pace car for the Detroit Grand Prix. Beautifully detailed, well-maintained, and presented with a hardcover retractable parade boot, this particular example must be one of the finest examples anywhere from the height of early 90s luxury with both American charm and the appeal of Italian flair. The car was fully serviced prior to sale at the renown Cadillac specialists 'Tips Automotive' of Torrance, CA and has a clean bill of health for its next owner. The car has a new fuel tank and fuel pump module, new radiator, new water pump, new A/C R134 freon and new trunk pull down assembly.
