Description
This 1993 Ducati 888 SPO was raced prior to being purchased by the seller in 2005 and has been modified with an Öhlins FGRT fork, an adjustable billet triple tree, high-compression pistons, oversized valves, Carrillo connecting rods, a Fast by Ferracci exhaust system, a re-flashed ECU, and an Oberon clutch slave cylinder as well as a Corbin seat, a double-bubble windscreen, carbon-fiber huggers, and more as detailed below. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled 888cc Desmoquattro L-twin paired with a six-speed transmission and features fully-faired bodywork finished in red with white accents and silver graphics over a silver steel trellis frame. Additional equipment includes billet rear-set foot controls and heel guards, 17″ alloy wheels, a progressively linked Öhlins remote-reservoir monoshock, and a box-section aluminum swingarm. This 888 SPO is now offered with engine rebuild records, removed and spare parts, replacement decals, a workshop manual, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name. The 888 SPO was a US-market version built to satisfy AMA Superbike homologation requirements and features fully faired Pierre Terblanche-designed bodywork that on this example is finished in red with white monoposto racing decals and silver graphics over a silver-painted steel trellis frame. The headlight portion of the fairing is a replacement, as is the clear double-bubble windscreen. Additional equipment includes a Corbin solo seat, fairing-mounted mirrors, integrated front turn signals, carbon-fiber huggers, billet rear-set foot controls, Roadracing It. aluminum heel guards, and a 900 SS side stand. A photo that shows four holes drilled in the monoposto tail section by a previous owner can be viewed in the gallery.
