Don’t be a stranger and keep me posted about how it’s going to go so I can makd new mistakes :) say hi ! October 1st, 2025 at 11:49am ESTmackiewicz (0) 0Update - We thank Doruk for making the purchase process so smooth. We would have no reservation about purchasing another car from him in the future. The 300e was well represented in the listing and mechanically sound (for a 30 yr old vehicle) - no surprises.September 11th, 2025 at 11:20pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@mackiewicz sounds good! That’s nice, almost local :)September 11th, 2025 at 11:20pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@k_brady for sure! Appreciate your comments and bids!September 11th, 2025 at 8:57pm ESTmackiewicz (0) 0@Drkkrkn Quite surprised ourselves too. All of your cars are quite nice and typically go for more. The 4-matic probably scared some folks. I'll reach out to you tomorrow. We're in Ohio.September 11th, 2025 at 8:33pm ESTk_brady (1) 1Fun sale! Love the later W124’s. I had a Florida spec ‘89 300E that was Smoke Silver Metallic with tan interior. Learned a lot about the W124 platform from working on it. This would have been a fun W124 to have retired to Florida 😎 @drkkrkn you had a great example W124 that can be refreshed. Awesome project car! @mackiewiczSeptember 11th, 2025 at 4:33pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0Wow! What a deal you got! Congrats! :) September 11th, 2025 at 4:00pm EST$2,024 bid placed by @mackiewiczSeptember 11th, 2025 at 3:18pm EST$1,374 bid placed by @HJKHSeptember 11th, 2025 at 2:12pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@Komikdeil it's a rare bird indeed, let's see who's the lucky one :) September 11th, 2025 at 2:00pm ESTKomikdeil (0) 0I wish you are close to CA… whom ever get this car he/she gets free for that price… September 10th, 2025 at 6:24pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 1Last 24 hours everyone! Congrats the buyer in advance! Good luck September 10th, 2025 at 9:18am ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@BenzLover appreciate it! I haven’t driven for too long but my friend who worked on it put around 400 miles before I shipped back from CT. So I wanna say it should be able to make even further without an issue. No drivability problems September 10th, 2025 at 9:06am ESTBenzLover (0) 0@Drkkrkn Nice W124. What is the longest drive you have done in the car? And would it be able to make it from PA to Northern VA without needing a tow?September 9th, 2025 at 5:41pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@RichBenzer oh anytime! Appreciate your comments! Definitely a great candidate with a decent potential :) September 9th, 2025 at 5:13pm ESTRichBenzer (4) 0@Drkkrkn thanks for the reply. Yes I have been looking up some details and these systems are indeed quite complex (those crafty Germans at it again!) and challenging. Your car does look pretty nice, I have 2 400Es of the same vintage so familiar with that set of complexities too. This car might be a good running restoration candidate, delve into the 4matic while still enjoying it. I shall ponder my interest.September 9th, 2025 at 4:55pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@RichBenzer The w124 4matic system is a highly complex system, with a "test" (disables the front axle) or "function" (which engages the front axle). I suggest doing a great deal of research if you are hoping to get the system working fully. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have more bidders on my car :) but -I also just learned- these early ages 4matic’s aren’t just either diff, or transfer case. There are plenty of information out there but since I lost the interest I just put it in ‘Test mode’ and didn’t proceed with getting 4matic to work. They’re obviously fixable, and it’s not a fund issue, it’s just I didn’t want to learn anything new :) September 9th, 2025 at 11:57am ESTRichBenzer (4) 0@Drkkrkn Is there a diagnosis on the 4matic issue? What causes it to "bind" (and what exactly does that mean? Like scrubbing on the tires in turns?) and what is "test mode"? The commentary suggests that this system is "A rear-wheel drive based system, this 4Matic all-wheel drive would send power to the front axles based on input from steering angle and the three ABS channels" so it appears some electronics of some sort control the front drive engagement. Any fault codes being thrown by a sensor or controller or actuator? Any apparent mechanical issue? My questions come from supposedly having had the transmission rebuilt yet no work on the 4matic system. Thanks for any insights on this issue.September 8th, 2025 at 8:46pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 1@Ace1 you have to place bid :) September 8th, 2025 at 7:30pm ESTAce1 (1) 1$1500September 8th, 2025 at 5:34pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@RichBenzer Car "binds" in 4matic & doesn't want to move. In test mode it drives fineSeptember 8th, 2025 at 5:01pm ESTRichBenzer (4) 0So what's wrong with the 4matic? Transfer case? Front diff?September 8th, 2025 at 11:03am ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@k_brady anytime! And good luck! September 8th, 2025 at 10:08am ESTk_brady (1) 0@Drkkrkn Thank you for taking the time to take those photos. September 5th, 2025 at 9:56am ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0@Stuttgart_Steel appreciate it! September 5th, 2025 at 8:48am ESTStuttgart_Steel (492) 0Black/black 4MATIC is a a rare bird. This is cool -- good luck. September 4th, 2025 at 7:53pm ESTDrkkrkn (29) Seller 0Hello everyone! A quick note, I just reread my first comment and realized that I wasn’t fair to this w124 lol. The vehicle recently received; new transmission shifter bushings, new shock mounts, upper engine reseal, EGR delete, replacement blower motor, all four replacement shocks, new spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, rebuilt driver seat with replacement memory module, seat bade and door switch. The car runs really well, and besides the 4matic being inop there’s nothing wrong with it. It is way better than a ‘project’ car. Good luck everybody!
