There's a 400E section on the 500Eboard forum with everything you need to know about the care & feeding of your new family member... :)May 31st, 2022 at 6:36pm ESTJustHunt (3) 3Congrats to the tooth doctor! That is a nice looking ride.May 31st, 2022 at 6:35pm ESTPrincetonMC (113) 3@2thdr Absolutely incredible mechanical refurbishment! We've seen thousands of Mercedes vehicles over the last 30 years, and this level of detail is very rarely encountered. Congrats to the lucky new owner!May 31st, 2022 at 6:32pm EST$17,750 bid placed by @2thdrMay 31st, 2022 at 6:30pm EST$17,500 bid placed by @JustHuntMay 31st, 2022 at 6:29pm EST$17,250 bid placed by @2thdrMay 31st, 2022 at 6:27pm EST$17,000 bid placed by @JustHuntMay 31st, 2022 at 6:26pm EST$16,750 bid placed by @2thdrMay 31st, 2022 at 6:26pm EST$16,500 bid placed by @JustHuntMay 31st, 2022 at 6:25pm EST$16,000 bid placed by @2thdrMay 31st, 2022 at 6:24pm EST$15,750 bid placed by @JustHuntMay 31st, 2022 at 6:15pm ESTSaccolegend (2) 2This paint looks so good on this car. Easily one of the best colors from MB! If it's between a 500E for $50k+ or this 400E, I think it's a pretty easy decision. This is such a nice example! The color correction in particular makes the paint really pop! GLWA. mawMay 31st, 2022 at 9:58am ESTgsxr (105) 2@TheAMGKit, the 400E received the same modifications to fit the V8 engine into the chassis. The front seats were not separated, the seat mounting rails were narrower to allow more space for the wider tunnel required for the larger twin catalysts. The firewall is also the same on all V8 models, ditto the reinforced rear subframe. As the seller mentioned, the 500E had a wider track, wider fenders, plus larger brakes and other subtle differences.May 31st, 2022 at 9:41am ESTLWB250 (35) 3Beautiful example of a 400E. I've owned two of these, and while I know a 500E is far better due to numerous improvements, you can't find a better "smiles per mile" value in a W124 than a 400E. When everything is up to snuff these cars drive like they're on rails to speeds that will push you back in the seat. GLWA! Both the 400 and the 500 had to have a substantial subframe modification/frame rails to house the mighty M119.May 27th, 2022 at 1:38am ESTTheAMGKit (37) 0the 500e required porsche figure out how to fit the m119 into the 124 right. Widened fender pulled back the firewall, separated the front seats a bit..... but why didnt the 400 get the same treatment....Its the same block. Motor is the same size... How did mercedes fit it without the 500 modifications from porsche. ??May 26th, 2022 at 11:12pm EST$9,250 bid placed by @WomarMay 26th, 2022 at 7:02pm EST$9,000 bid placed by @2thdrMay 26th, 2022 at 3:41pm EST$8,750 bid placed by @Erald24May 26th, 2022 at 1:24pm ESTrippeldrew (15) Seller 3Hi to all those who have stopped by to check-out and bid on my pearl blue garage queen. I have spent well over 9k in preventative maintenance on this car and while I hate to get rid of it, I have been obsessing over a year now about 129’s, but don’t have room in the garage for two stellar Sacco designs.
