1994 Daihatsu Hijet JDM Firetruck

Vehicle Description 1994 Daihatsu Hijet $12,000 Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer this exceptionally unique 1994 Daihatsu Hijet 4WD Fire Truck. If you are looking for something that stands out from the crowd, it would be difficult to find a more unusual JDM vehicle than this authentic Japanese fire-service mini truck. Finished in traditional emergency red and retaining its specialized fire apparatus body, this little Hijet combines the charm of a Japanese kei truck with the functionality and personality of a genuine fire-service vehicle. Power is provided by a 660cc three-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and 4WD. The compact Hijet platform was designed around Japan's kei-vehicle regulations, creating a lightweight and highly maneuverable commercial vehicle that could navigate narrow streets and confined work areas. The combination of four-wheel drive and a manual transmission makes this example particularly appealing to enthusiasts looking for a fun and functional JDM vehicle. One of the biggest highlights is the incredibly low original mileage. The odometer shows just 7,919 kilometers, equivalent to approximately 4,921 original miles. That is exceptionally low for a 1994 commercial vehicle, and the condition of this Hijet reflects its careful history. The exterior presents extremely well in its bright red finish, while the cab features clean gray cloth seating and a remarkably well-preserved interior. The right-hand-drive configuration adds authentic JDM character and makes this truck an instant conversation starter wherever it goes. The rear of the truck is where this Hijet really separates itself from an ordinary kei truck. The specialized fire apparatus remains in place, complete with equipment mounting areas, rear access compartments, emergency lighting, and the distinctive equipment arrangement associated with Japanese fire-service vehicles. The working rotating fire light and spotlight are functional, adding to the experience and authenticity of this unique piece of Japanese automotive history. The 4WD system makes this tiny fire truck more than just a novelty. Its compact footprint and four-wheel-drive capability make it exceptionally maneuverable in tight areas where a conventional truck simply cannot go. The 5-speed manual transmission adds to the fun factor and gives the driver a much more engaging experience than the automatic transmissions found in many kei trucks. Whether displayed at a show, used around a property, or simply enjoyed as a unique collector vehicle, this Hijet is sure to attract attention. The eighth-generation Hijet represents an important chapter in Daihatsu's long history of building compact commercial vehicles. These trucks were engineered to maximize utility while staying within Japan's strict kei-vehicle size and displacement regulations. This particular example takes that already-interesting platform and preserves it in one of the most unusual configurations imaginable: a dedicated fire-service vehicle. With only 7,919 original kilometers, authentic fire-truck equipment, working emergency lighting and spotlight, 4WD, a 5-speed manual transmission, right-hand drive, and an exceptionally clean presentation, this Hijet offers a combination that is extremely difficult to duplicate. It is not simply a JDM mini truck with a unique appearance; it is a genuine example of the specialized vehicles used by Japanese fire services, preserved in remarkably clean condition. Whether you are a JDM enthusiast, kei-truck collector, emergency-vehicle enthusiast, or simply someone who wants the most interesting vehicle at the next cars and coffee, this 1994 Daihatsu Hijet Fire Truck delivers personality in a package that is almost impossible to ignore. It may be small in size, but there is absolutely nothing small about its uniqueness. For more information or to schedule a viewing, contact Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas today. [email protected]
