Alas, it was not. This car had been for sale at £130k ($170k USD) earlier this year. Not sure what availability is like on the other side of the pond: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?zip-code=12345&frontWidth=245/&frontRatio=45&frontDiameter=17&rearWidth=275/&rearRatio=40&rearDiameter=17&performance=ALL Only one option showing for 265 though. I'd prefer 245/275 on wheels 8.5/10.0 anyway, but that's just me. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?zip-code=12345&frontWidth=245/&frontRatio=45&frontDiameter=17&rearWidth=265/&rearRatio=40&rearDiameter=17&performance=ALLDecember 9th, 2025 at 12:24pm EST$50,000 bid placed by @PerkinsClassicDecember 9th, 2025 at 11:43am EST$48,000 bid placed by @Ali63December 9th, 2025 at 9:39am ESTPeterQvortrup (13) Seller 0@Herbogile What you say here is the opposite of what you said in your original comment, but helpful nonetheless! I have been trying to buy wintertyres for my C36 AMGs and getting the same brand on the front and back is proving impossible in the UK, I wonder what will happen over the next 5 - 10 years when electric cars represent a larger percentage of cars on the road, not a happy prospect. PeterDecember 9th, 2025 at 9:18am ESTHerbogile (1) 0Anyway, there are other equivalent tires that can be very similar to those; it's not that the car won't have tires, but several very similar ones can be used.December 9th, 2025 at 4:11am ESTPeterQvortrup (13) Seller 1@Herbogile according to my tyre supplier, Michelin, Hankook and Kleber can make these to special order, I am waiting to find out how long the wait is and the cost of the tyres, once I have an answer to this perhaps we should band together and buy a small batch of these tyres? PeterDecember 8th, 2025 at 9:54pm ESTC55fan (0) 0beautifulDecember 8th, 2025 at 7:33pm ESTHerbogile (1) 0@PeterQvortrup Well, tell me what brand those tires are because I've been trying for months and I've spoken to countless tire dealers and they all say they don't make them anymore and it's not possible.December 8th, 2025 at 2:19pm ESTPeterQvortrup (13) Seller 0@MezgerDude Thanks, I can do ship to the US. PeterDecember 8th, 2025 at 2:18pm ESTPeterQvortrup (13) Seller 0@Herbogile Thanks Herb, I have spoken to my tyre supplier and assure me the tyres will be available to order, so I intend to order 4 and include 2 in the sale as I also have another car with this size. PeterDecember 8th, 2025 at 1:55pm ESTMezgerDude (0) 0Is the seller willing to help ship to the USA?December 8th, 2025 at 1:02pm ESTHerbogile (1) 0Excuse me, but you only have to go to the Michelin website to realize they're no longer manufactured. I have a very similar Mercedes, and I've been looking for tires like that for months, and it's impossible. They haven't made those tires for over 10 years. You'd have to check what year the tires that came with the car are from, and they'll be more than 10 years old. Mine was sold to me with 2004 tires, and they were all cracked, so those must be similar.December 8th, 2025 at 12:56pm ESTAvicenna (4) 0@Herbogile @takeflight you’re both right. I found out the hard way and only after buying my set that it would be quite difficult to find 275/40 R17 + 245/45 R17 tyres locally where I live. From what I gathered this is because they aren’t manufactured as frequently as regular modern sized tyres so mine were new but the tyre stamps showed a production date that was about 18-24months old. I also had to place an international order for mine so the shipping cost me nearly as much as the tyres themselves. Some people end up converting theirs to 18s because that makes it easier and cheaper.December 8th, 2025 at 11:17am ESTTakeflight (10) 2@Herbogile Not sure where you're checking but there's a few manufactures making that size including Michelin. I recently got a set for my R129 with these same wheel specs. December 7th, 2025 at 10:08pm ESTHerbogile (1) 1What they don't mention is that the 265/40/17 rear tires are no longer manufactured and it's impossible to fit others... it's a big problemDecember 7th, 2025 at 12:18am EST$43,500 bid placed by @BilalAbbaDecember 5th, 2025 at 10:58am ESTmercedes
