Description
KEY FACTS This Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version 1 is an exciting early example of the marque’s celebrated rally-inspired performance sedan. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre flat-four, producing 184kW and driving all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This example was originally a Japan-delivered model, which was recently imported to Australia, where it passed compliance in May 2023. The odometer indicates 74,246 km, which the seller believes to be the genuine total. Build year: 1994 EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The first-generation WRX STI was launched in Japan in 1994, combining the GC8 Impreza platform with STI-developed enhancements and a more powerful version of Subaru’s turbocharged EJ20 flat-four engine. This example is finished in the timeless shade of Light Silver Metallic, over a black cloth and grey synthetic suede-trimmed interior, featuring contrasting red stitching and embroidered STI logos on the front seat backs. It rides on a set of 18-inch STI five-spoke split-rim alloy wheels finished in silver with polished barrels, fitted with Triangle Sportex tyres. Equipment includes a rear screen wiper, a three-spoke Nardi steering wheel, electrically operated windows and folding door mirrors, an intercooler water sprayer, and automatic air conditioning. This example has been upgraded with BC adjustable coilover suspension, an Invidia High Performance exhaust system, a Pioneer Carrozzeria stereo, centre console Lambco boost pressure, battery voltage, and oil temperature gauges, and a GFB Hybrid blow-off valve. The car comes with a space-saver spare wheel, a jack, a car cover, the original tools, the BC adjustment wrenches, the Pioneer stereo information booklets, two keys, the Japanese owner’s manuals, the Japanese service booklet, the Australian import documentation, pages from a Japanese sales brochure, and a collection of maintenance invoices and Japanese Shaken reports.
