KEY FACTS This E36-era BMW M3 GT is a rare and exciting modern classic performance coupe. Powered by a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-six engine, sending power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. First registered in 1995, this M3 GT is currently located in Germany. The odometer indicates 106,252 km, though this is not warranted. This is one of only 356 E36-era M3 GT models built worldwide. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The E36-generation M3 GT was built as a homologation exercise for the FIA GT Series and the IMSA GT Series races. Modifications above a standard E36 M3 included six separate throttle bodies, BMW’s then newly developed ‘Vanos’ technology and a 264° camshaft angle, creating an additional 13bhp over its standard siblings. All feature specially made front and rear spoilers, along with aerodynamically optimised door mirrors, M double-spoke aluminium forged wheels, white front indicator lenses, and lightweight aluminium doors. As with all E36-era M3 GT models, this example is finished in British Racing Green, over a black synthetic suede and Mexico Green leather-trimmed interior, featuring M Sport accents on the seats and carbon-fibre trim. It rides on an aftermarket set of 18-inch twin five-spoke three-piece alloy wheels, framing red Porsche-branded brake callipers and fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres.
