Description
OVERVIEWThe Cadillac Eldorado nameplate ran from 1953 to 2002 across twelve generations, and this car belongs to the twelfth and final generation, produced 1992–2002. That generation was offered in base Eldorado and ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) trim, and adopted the Northstar V8 partway through its run, replacing the 4.9L L26 V8 used in 1992 and 1993. Unlike the tenth-generation Eldorado, which Cadillac officially reintroduced as a factory-optioned, VIN-coded convertible built by American Sunroof Corporation for the 1984–85 model years, the twelfth-generation Eldorado was never offered as a factory convertible. Cars like this one instead went through Coach Builders Limited, an aftermarket coachbuilder that converted Eldorado coupes into convertibles each year in the 1990s with GM's sanction, with fewer than 400 built in total, making this a genuinely rare variant within an already-limited-production nameplate's final generation. For 1995, Cadillac equipped the Eldorado with an updated Integrated Chassis Control System, linking speed-sensitive steering, four-channel anti-lock brakes, traction control, and Road-Sensing Suspension, which electronically adapts to road conditions in real time. The Eldorado is supported today by the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, a national marque club for Cadillac and LaSalle owners.View More
