Description
KEY FACTS This Ferrari 348 GT Competizione is one of just 50 road cars built (#40), and one of only 11 total right-hand-drive examples identified by 348GTC.com . It is powered by a 3.4-litre naturally aspirated V8, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed open-gate manual transmission. First registered in the UK in January 1995, it was subsequently imported to Australia and has been in the current ownership for 17 years. It is believed to be the only GTC currently residing in Australia. The odometer shows 43,599 miles, supported by the history on file. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES Based on the 348 GTB, the GTC was extensively re-engineered and lightened, with carbon/Kevlar used for the bumpers, door panels and sills, seats and other components. Comfort equipment and sound deadening were reduced, resulting in a dry weight of just 1,180kg. Mechanical changes included revised suspension geometry and components, with the rear suspension anticipating elements of the later F355; unique exhaust manifolds and exhaust system, reputed to release around 10hp beyond Ferrari's published figure; and shorter gearing to improve acceleration and response. Further GTC features included three-piece 18-inch Speedline wheels, lightweight F40-style fabric seats, aluminium gear knob and pedals, and a unique steering wheel inscribed with the car's individual production number. The seller notes that its factory enamel Scuderia Ferrari shields are particularly significant. Before shields became a regular road-car option, the GTC was one of only four Ferrari road models from 1984 to 1998 supplied with them as standard, alongside the 288 GTO, F40 and F50, reflecting their connection with Ferrari's racing heritage. Finished in Rosso Corsa with black interior trim and the correct red F40-style fabric seats. The car has Alcon front brakes, high-flow catalytic converters and two bespoke aluminium radiators. It retains its factory-fitted radio. Accompanied by the owner's manual, tool kit including ra
