Domestic rates are about $.85 per mile in an open trailer. I'm sure Europe could be worked out, however. I haven't been able to find a repair order however, except that the VMI shows that the valve block, top hydraulic system, was replaced under warranty in 1997. There is no dry rot on any bushings or hoses or belts. Some hoses have been replaced in previous years, as well as the engine wiring harness, as mentioned. The engine oil has just been changed and a new battery installed. While I am online, I will add that the blue "D" sticker shown on the rear, and the small badge on the grill have been removed.September 10th, 2024 at 3:36pm ESTJRHoefling (0) 0Beautiful car! There was at least one aftermarket hardtop that I've seen on European models, from a company called Weisman I think. But, it was very very expensive, very heavy, and was not a simple plug and play like the R129 hardtops. Given the magnificent insulation and soundproofing of the standard cloth top, I can't imagine anyone really wanting one. Plus, you'd have to store the damn thing whenever not on the car. That being said, this is a very nice example with classic color combination, that presents well, with solid documentation. This car was purchased in 2003 by a good friend in the Mercedes Club, whom I had met previously. I know that he took extremely good care of this car and used it mainly for car shows and club events. I also know that it was stored each winter and meticulously maintained.
