There is nothing in the available service history indicating head gasket replacement or upper engine harness replacement. Inspecting the harness connectors of the front engine sensors reveals no visible wire failure. We resealed the front cam cover to correct a minor oil leak front engine area. Roy is not exaggerating about this model-it looks and drives like a high quality piece. The 24 valve engine is amazingly smooth and quiet for a 6 cylinder Mercedes. I’m curious about the reference to AMG being involved in the stiffening of the open top chassis. I know there was an AMG variant (E36) but never heard that AMG was involved with the chassis development.
