I can confirm, however, that the car did ultimately pass its recent emissions test and was certified. On the subject of the wiring, Classic German Motors of Pasadena, California noticed a relatively small defect in the under-hood wiring that they believe was caused by a rodent in our garage. They repaired the damage but did not replace the entire harness. Other than the defect that was repaired, the harness has never caused any issues.
