I had a reputable local body shop inspect the car. Based on their assessment, the car has been resprayed at some point. As you mentioned, factory paint ranges from 4-7 mils, but this car consistently shows 8.8-9.8 mils throughout the entire vehicle. They confirmed that the work done was of high quality (no Mickey Mouse job), as there are very few telltale signs. No run-offs or overspray can be seen on the body panels, trims, or even underneath the car. The bolts and hinges were also reinstalled in their original assembly points. If you're familiar with bodywork, you'll see that there are usually shift points or indentations visible compared to the original factory assembly points. You can see the consistency of the paint in the video I provided. Based on the shop's inspection the car does not show any sign of the accident or body damage.
