Description
BMW introduced the Z3 for the 1996 model year as a two-seat roadster built in Spartanburg, South Carolina, making it the first BMW model produced in the U.S. The launch model was the Z3 1.9, powered by a 1.9L M44 DOHC inline-four rated at 138 horsepower and paired with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, and the car famously (and briefly) appeared in the James Bond flick, "Goldeneye."
This Z3 1.9 is finished in Hellrot over black leather with a black soft top and shows approximately 24,000 miles. Factory equipment includes heated seats, air conditioning, cruise control, fog lights, a HiFi speaker system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and alloy wheels.
The car was first delivered the seller's mother at Patrick BMW of Schaumburg, Illinois, and it was inherited by the seller in 2025. Over the last year, the instrument cluster lights as well as the alternator have been replaced.
This 1997 BMW Z3 1.9 is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer's literature, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report and a clean Illinois title in the seller's name.
