1997 GMC 1500 Sierra SL

Description 1997 GMC 1500 Sierra SL – GMC (General Motors Truck Company) has been a division of GM since 1911, specializing in trucks, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. By the late 1980s, GMC’s full‑size pickups were part of the Chevrolet C/K (fourth generation) series, produced from 1988–2000 in the U.S. The 1997 model year fell in the middle of this run, with most models sharing frames, mounting points, and many drivetrain components with 1996 and 1998 trucks. The 1997 GMC truck line was a mature, well‑equipped era of GM’s GMT400 pickups and SUVs, blending workhorse reliability with comfort and versatility, and it remains a favorite for restorers, custom builders, and practical buyers alike. We’ve had our finger on the pulse of the OBS market for several years and can say one thing for sure…. the nice ones are getting harder and harder to find!
