1997 Mercedes-Benz G36 AMG

This 1997 Mercedes-Benz G36 AMG presents in Metallic Navy Blue over a Black leather interior, showing 44,850 miles from new as a Japanese-market example in completely original, unmodified condition. The W463-generation G-Wagen in AMG specification is among the most consequential collector SUVs of the pre-modern era — AMG's hand-assembled 3.6-liter naturally aspirated inline-six producing 268 horsepower in a body-on-frame platform whose fundamental engineering has remained essentially unchanged through the present day, combining genuine off-road capability with the period AMG performance credentials and interior quality that define the last generation of Mercedes-Benz products built before the brand's late-1990s ownership transition. The G36 AMG was never officially sold in the United States, and Japanese-market examples — imported from one of the most fastidious ownership cultures in the world — represent the most desirable provenance available for a model whose honest, low-mileage survivors in original condition have become among the most sought-after pre-modern AMG vehicles in the collector market.
