1998 BMW Alpina B3 3.2

KEY FACTS An exciting modern classic performance saloon, this Alpina B3 3.2 Saloon is a very rare find in the market. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.2-litre Alpina-tuned straight-six engine, sending power to the rear wheels via a retrofitted six-speed manual transmission. First registered in 1998, this example was UK-delivered, and subsequently imported to New Zealand. The odometer shows 96,517 miles, which is supported by the WoF history, though it has been incorrectly logged as kilometres. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES This is a rare Alpina model, understood to be one of just 342 examples of the B3 3.2 built, with saloons believed to account for only 85 of these. While originally delivered with the Switchtronic automatic gearbox, this car was professionally converted to a Getrag 420G six-speed manual transmission by HellBM Silverdale in August 2023 using an OEM Alpina unit sourced from the UK. During this conversion, a new dual-mass flywheel was fitted, along with new clutch and pressure plate, and associated bushings and mounts. The seller states that the manual conversion is fully LVV certified. The car is finished in Hellrot (Bright Red) over a Black leather-trimmed interior. It rides on the correct 17-inch Alpina multi-spoke alloy wheels. Equipment includes climate control air conditioning, a Business RDS stereo, four airbags (front and side), ASC+T stability control, a retractable rear sun blind, heated front sport seats, a sunroof, and M-Technic side mirrors. Accompanying the car are two keys, the original delivery service book stamped and signed by Alpina, a large folder of history and receipts including export/importation documents, the official Alpina Certificate of Authenticity with the original build sheet, and the retained original Switch-Tronic transmission.
