1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230

Merit Cars presents this 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230, an attractive one-owner example that can be made into a very nice driver. Finished in Jet Black with a Quartz leather interior, the car has been owned by the same person since new and shows 114,135 miles on the odometer. The car presents well cosmetically. The black paint has a good overall appearance and the body has the attractive compact proportions that made the first-generation SLK such a popular Mercedes roadster. The Quartz leather interior is decent and usable, with some minor tears on the passenger seat. The car will need mechanical attention. It is currently in limp mode and, at present, only 2nd and reverse gears are operating. We are having our mechanic perform additional diagnostics and will update the listing as we learn more. The convertible top is also currently not operating; notably, it was functioning as recently as three days before the listing was prepared. This is therefore being offered as a car that needs work, rather than as a fully sorted driver. The combination of one-owner history, attractive color combination and relatively modest asking price makes it an interesting opportunity for an enthusiast who is comfortable taking on a mechanical project. The car comes with a spare wheel and some extra parts. Price: $6,950
