Description
Stock #7220 Boasting class-leading fuel efficiency here at the dealership, a full slate of power amenities, and an engaging driving experience second to none, it's easy to see why we're such staunch advocates for these lovely Japanese Classic SUVs! Exterior Overview As technology advances and vehicles change before our very eyes, it’s clear Toyota’s 100 series chassis is here to stay. Find a Japanese market example with a legendary turbodiesel engine, and you have a future-proof vehicle that makes for a comfortable and efficient daily driver to boot! Our 1998 VX Limited is a fine unit, finished in a stately white pearl (057). It’s set off by a few OEM optional goodies not found in the US, like a factory aluminum grille, spare tire swingarm, and hardshell tire cover too. OEM rainguards and a factory spoiler complete the aesthetic, and this super SUV rolls on brand new Fifteen52 alloys. Save for a previously noted replacement of the front bumper cover, this 88k verified and documented mile transporter looks the part, and only shows a few minor paint blemishes from daily use. Best of all, we’ve fully serviced this Cruiser from engine to drivetrain, and it’s passed state safety inspection and is turnkey, ready to roll. Boasting class-leading fuel efficiency here at the dealership, a full slate of power amenities, and an engaging driving experience second to none, it’s easy to see why we’re such staunch advocates for these lovely Japanese Classic SUVs! Interior Overview As we’re well into the 21st century, it’s surprising to see a cockpit designed in the late 90s hold up so well. With durable cloth upholstery, easy to use amenities, and plenty of power niceties to assist daily use, it’s easy to see why Toyota was at the top of their game when they penned this cabin. The cloth seats are in good shape and mimic the pattern in the door cards and factory floor mats. They’ve also resisted major stains, rips, or punctures, thanks to a set of aftermarket seat covers that withstood the brunt of the damage. For safety-conscious occupants, dual SRS airbags are standard, and the driver can get comfortable behind a tilt-adjustable steering column. There’s also power-adjustable lumbar support to assist on longer hauls. The center stack is simple and spartan, and is the perfect command center for this utilitarian rig. Ripe with dual-zone heat and A/C, the cabin temps can be dialed in accordingly. If you prefer a natural breeze, an expansive power moonroof can slide fore and aft, and all four power windows work like a charm, too. Upgraded Pioneer audio plays clearly throughout the cabin, and even features Bluetooth integration to pump in your own tunes. Power locks and side mirrors assist daily use, although the power folding feature has given up the ghost. All in all, the interior condition is impressive, and the next owner should have no issues keeping it tidy for years to come! Mechanical Overview The 1HD-FTE under the hood is a real titan. Typically, old diesel Land Cruisers are associated with harsh, clunky power delivery, but this updated 4.2l runs smooth as butter. Better yet, it’s fresh off a recent service, where we dropped in two new 12v batteries to aid ignition. To ensure the turbodiesel breathes freely, a new engine air filter was installed, and a new fuel filter keeps contaminants out of the engine. An oil and filter service was also performed, and we flushed the coolant with all new juice to get you up to date on maintenance. Linked to a stout automatic gearbox, this massive SUV accelerates impressively and feels stable at highway speeds. A Full-Time 4WD system underpins this Cruiser and both a center locker and low range can be engaged if the going gets tough. The suspension received a hefty refresh here, as an Eibach pro-truck lift was installed to replace the worn out adjustable height control suspension. To complement the new suspension, we installed new front lower control arms, front lower ball joints, and rear upper and lower control arms. The power steering is easy to maneuver, and we installed a new wheel speed sensor so your ABS brakes kick in when needed. This 100 feels super stable on the highway, and it absorbs large and small potholes alike with confidence. The alloy wheels are wrapped in brand new 34″ Falken 10-ply all terrain rubber, and lastly, we performed a fresh four-wheel alignment on our rack here. It’s hard to find an SUV that looks good, drives well, and still gets decent fuel economy. Fortunately, this terrific Toyota knows how to deliver, time and time again! *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
