Description
KEY FACTS This Ferrari 360 Challenge is a rare and sought-after modern classic Italian race car. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V8, delivering 298kW to the rear wheels via a six-speed F1 automated manual transmission with paddle shift. The odometer reportedly shows 12,442 km, but this is not warranted. Build year: 2000 EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The finely honed track-ready ‘Challenge’ variant features a number of upgrades over the standard 360 Modena, including the 3.6-litre V8 being blueprinted, micro-finished, and fitted with uprated engine mounts, as well as an upgraded transmission control unit that enables faster upshifts, a racing clutch with a lightened flywheel, and uprated and stiffer suspension components, including multi-way adjustable dampers with ride-height setting adjustment. Inside, the trim covers, door panels, and standard glass windows were all removed, along with the sound-deadening material. In their place are a lighter front windscreen and rear glass, Lexan polycarbonate side window panels with slide openings, and carbon-fibre inner door panels with pull cords. As a result, the Challenge model is around 115kg lighter than the standard 360 Modena. This example is finished in Rosso Corsa, over a black Alcantara-trimmed interior. It rides on 18-inch BBS alloy wheels, framing grey Brembo callipers and wrapped in Pirelli tyres. Equipment includes an OMP roll cage, an OMP 360 GT bucket seat, Automatic Slip Regulation (ASR), a rain light and a battery master switch. SUMMARY This Ferrari 360 Challenge is a rare and exhilarating modern classic race car, presented in the quintessential Ferrari colour, and boasting some desirable factory upgrades. It would make a notable addition to any marque or motorsport enthusiast’s collection, and a highly competitive racer.
