Description
Among the most highly acclaimed sports sedans ever produced, the E39-generation BMW M5 features a naturally aspirated S62 V8 engine sending power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This 2001 example is finished in Carbon Black Metallic over Black and Imola Red leather interior upholstery and rides on factory 18" Style 65 wheels. Showing approximately 62k miles on the odometer, this M5 is now being offered for auction in Virginia.
Compared to a standard E39 5 Series sedan, the M5 features black Shadowline trim, unique bumpers and side skirts, aerodynamic mirrors, a trunk-lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. Finished in Carbon Black Metallic, this example is equipped with xenon headlights, integrated front fog lamps, front and rear parking sensors, and an electric sunroof, and it rides on factory 18" Style 65 wheels mounted with Toyo tires measuring 275/35R18 up front and 245/40R18 at the rear, dated to 2014 with approximately 50% tread remaining. The seller notes some paint chips and a small trunk scratch addressed with a dealer touch-up kit, and adds that the hood and roof were repainted by a previous owner, with a portion of the driver’s-side quarter panel also showing paint per meter readings. The CARFAX reports minor damage in June 2016. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with Black and Imola Red Nappa leather upholstery, complemented by an Alcantara headliner and burl walnut wood trim. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front sport seats with driver-position memory, a three-spoke M Sport multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, M5-branded floor mats and door sills, an M footrest, an M Audio system with a BMW six-disc CD changer, a navigation system, and M-specific instrument gauges with a variable redline tachometer.
