KEY FACTS This Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 is a highly collectible and charming modern classic hot hatch, presented in a desirable Anthracite factory colour scheme and benefiting from recent recommissioning maintenance by Coventry Classic Minis. Powered by a naturally aspirated 1.3-litre inline-four engine driving the front wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. First registered in January 2001, this example has been with the seller and the third owner for 14 years. The odometer indicates 38,082 miles, which the seller believes to be the genuine total. This example is one of the final 500 Minis ever built to the original Sir Alec Issigonis design, featuring a special metal commemoration plate inside the glove compartment. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 model was created as a run-out special edition to commemorate the end of ‘classic’ Mini production, and features ‘Sports Pack’ extended wheel arches, 13-inch Minilite alloy wheels, quad-spotlights, and a two-tone leather-trimmed interior. Finished in Anthracite with a contrasting Platinum Silver roof, door mirrors, and racing stripes, over a Black and Nickel-Silver leather-trimmed interior with an aluminium gear knob, door handles, and window winders. It rides on a set of 13-inch Minilite alloy wheels, fitted with new Yokohama A539 tyres. Equipment includes a machine-turned aluminium dashboard with magnolia gauges, an analogue clock, and heater and ventilation controls. This example has been fitted with a Stage-1 tuning kit, including a Maniflow exhaust system, a Maniflow exhaust manifold and link pipe, and a K&N air filter, as well as a Kenwood stereo and JBL speakers. Accompanied by the owner's manuals in a black leather wallet, a letter of official 500 authentication from Rover to the first owner, the V5C, and a collection of maintenance invoices and MOT certificates.
