Description
2004 Ducati 749R ZDMH501AF4B007644 Desmoquattro | Homologation “R” The Ducati 749R is the homologation-spec evolution of the 749 platform—developed for World Supersport competition and equipped with the highest-specification engine and chassis components available in the series. First year production was approx. 400 units of a total of 1,262 examples worldwide between 2004–2006. The 749R is recognized as one of the sharpest-handling modern Ducatis, combining lightweight feel, exceptional front-end precision, and race-focused engineering with distinctive Pierre Terblanche-era styling. Unlike the standard 749 models, the “R” upgrades include larger valves, titanium internals, revised cylinder heads, adjustable steering geometry, upgraded suspension with Ohlins forks and rear mono-chock, and other lightweight components. The result is a far more purposeful and exclusive motorcycle built with genuine homologation intent. This example presents in very clean original condition and retains the aggressive, uncompromising character that defines Ducati’s early-2000s superbikes. An increasingly uncommon model and desirable for collectors seeking something more distinctive than the ubiquitous 916/996-series bikes while retaining true Ducati Corse pedigree.
