2004 Ford Thunderbird Deluxe 2dr Convertible

Vehicle Description 2004 Ford Thunderbird $17,997 2004 Ford Thunderbird Convertible — Silver over Black, V8, Last Year of Production The 2004 Ford Thunderbird is one of those vehicles that takes on added significance the moment Ford announced it would be discontinued. Ford produced the eleventh-generation Thunderbird from 2002 through 2005, but production numbers tell a more specific story: 2004 was the final full model year before the line was quietly ended, and total production across all four years landed well under 70,000 units. For a two-seat convertible with a retro design rooted in the original 1955 Thunderbird, that limited run matters. This particular car wears silver over a black leather interior — a combination that reads clean and confident without drawing attention to itself in the wrong way. The eleventh-generation Thunderbird was Ford's attempt to recapture the personal luxury spirit of the original two-seat T-Bird, the car that debuted in 1955 as Ford's answer to the Chevrolet Corvette. The 2002–2005 car was built on a rear-wheel-drive platform shared with the Lincoln LS, developed in part with Jaguar involvement following Ford's acquisition of the brand. That lineage shows in the chassis architecture — independent suspension at all four corners, a rear-mounted differential, and a curb feel that leans toward refined touring rather than twitchy sport. It was not designed to be a performance car in the traditional sense. It was designed to be enjoyable, comfortable, and distinctly American in character. Why This Car Is Special The 2004 Ford Thunderbird is the final full model year of the modern Thunderbird, making it the last of the run. Low overall production figures for the entire 2002–2005 generation mean that clean, well-equipped examples are already becoming harder to find in the condition seen here. This car is finished in silver with a black soft top and a black leather interior — a combination that photographs well and holds up over time. It carries the 3.9-liter DOHC V8 producing 280 horsepower and every major comfort and convenience option Ford offered for this model. The underside photographs confirm a dry, structurally solid platform consistent with a southern-state vehicle, with no evidence of significant corrosion on the unibody or subframe components. Ford rated this engine at 280 horsepower, and it drives through a 5-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The combination delivers smooth, linear power delivery that suits the character of the car — not abrupt or aggressive, but capable of real highway passing ability without drama. The exhaust exits through dual tips at the rear bumper, and the tone at idle and light throttle is appropriately V8 in character without being loud. The Thunderbird's chassis is built around independent front and rear suspension, and the underside photos on this example show the subframe, differential housing, control arms, and exhaust system in detail. The rear independent setup — with cast aluminum control arms visible in the photos — was engineered with both ride quality and handling precision in mind. The differential is visible at the rear axle centerline, flanked by the independent halfshafts feeding power outward t
