2005 Morgan V6 Roadster

The 2005 Morgan V6 Roadster is a classic British sports car that fuses the iconic, hand-built aesthetics of the 1930s with modern 21st-century mechanical reliability. Introduced to replace the legendary Rover V8-powered Plus 8, this era of the Roadster is highly praised by driving enthusiasts for its lightweight agility and vintage open-top experience.  Powertrain and Performance •   The Engine: Driven by a modern 3.0-liter Ford Duratec 24-valve DOHC V6 engine. •   Power Output: It generates 223 to 225 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. •   Transmission: Uses a precise 5-speed manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels. •   Speed Metrics: Accelerates from 0–60 mph in roughly 4.6 to 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 134 mph. •   Differential: Features a limited-slip differential to optimize traction under heavy acceleration.  Design and Construction •   The Frame: Employs the company's famous traditional design, featuring an aluminum alloy body over a Belgian ash wood frame, all sitting on a galvanized steel ladder chassis.  •   Curb Weight: Weighs a mere 2,079 to 2,260 lbs, creating an exceptional power-to-weight ratio that makes the car accelerate like a rocket ship. •   Suspension: Relies on a historic sliding-pillar front suspension layout—a design Morgan used since before WWII—paired with a solid live axle and leaf springs in the rear.  •   Classic Details: Fitted with 16-inch, 72-spoke stainless steel wire wheels, sweeping wings, and a center-split louvred bonnet.
