Description
The Ferrari F430 Spider marked the final evolution of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated mid-engine V8 lineage before the transition into the modern dual-clutch era. Developed alongside the F430 berlinetta and unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the Spider combined Ferrari’s Formula One-derived engineering with open-air driving, carrying over the 4.3-liter V8, electronic differential, and steering-wheel-mounted Manettino system while preserving nearly all of the coupe’s performance capabilities. Chassis 147045 represents one of the rarest configurations within the F430 production run: a U.S.-specification Spider equipped with the traditional open-gate six-speed manual transmission. By the mid-2000s, Ferrari’s F1 automated manual had become the dominant choice among buyers, leaving only a small percentage of F430s produced with three pedals. The 458 Italia that followed would eliminate the manual transmission entirely, making the F430 the final generation of mid-engine Ferrari V8 road cars offered with a gated shifter. Finished in Nero Daytona over Beige leather with Nero contrast piping and a matching Nero soft top, this example was specified with desirable factory options including Daytona-style sport seats, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, red brake calipers, leather rear shelf and door mouldings, High Power Hi-Fi audio system, and factory battery charger preparation. The original Ferrari VIP Book identifies the car specifically as “SPIDER MANUALE USA MY 2006,” confirming both its factory manual transmission configuration and U.S.-market specification. The accompanying Monroney sticker reflects an original MSRP of $216,800. Delivered new on April 27, 2006 through Ferrari/Maserati of San Antonio, the car would later spend extended ownership periods in New York, Connecticut, Montana, Ohio, and Tennessee, maintaining consistent service relationships with Ferrari-authorized dealers and marque specialists throughout its life. Long-term servicing through Rubio Premier Motors in Westhampton, New York included shift linkage attention, plug and filter servicing, and belt inspections between 2009 and 2013. Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island later performed factory campaigns and inspection work in 2015 at just over 6,000 miles. Most recently, the current owner commissioned a comprehensive service in July 2025 through Prancing Horse of Nashville. Approximately $5,700 in documented work included Ferrari annual service items, replacement of all four rubber brake hoses as preventative maintenance, reconnection of the exhaust flap vacuum system, and completion of Ferrari recall campaign RC80 under factory warranty. At the time of cataloging, chassis 147045 shows just 6,770 miles from new, averaging fewer than 350 miles annually across nearly two decades of ownership. The car retains its original specification throughout and is accompanied by protective paint film over the front clip, its original stock exhaust system, Ferrari VIP Book, original warranty booklet, original Monroney sticker, complete manuals, toolkit, tire inflator, factory car cover, service invoices, and supporting documentation. As the market for manual-transmission Ferraris continues to narrow around low-mileage, highly documented examples, the F430 Spider has emerged as one of the last truly analog open-air Ferraris. Combining a naturally aspirated V8, gated six-speed transmission, complete factory documentation, and fewer than 7,000 miles from new, chassis 147045 represents an exceptionally preserved example of Ferrari’s final manual mid-engine Spider.
