2006 Jaguar XK-Series XK8 2dr Convertible

Vehicle Description 2006 Jaguar XK-Series $16,997 2006 Jaguar XK8 Convertible Victory Edition — White over Tan, 4.2L V8, Full Factory Options Why This Car Is Special The 2006 Jaguar XK8 Convertible represents the final chapter of one of the most visually enduring grand touring cars of the modern era. The XK8 nameplate launched in 1996 as the spiritual successor to the XJS, and it immediately set a new standard for Jaguar's road cars by pairing an all-new aluminum V8 engine with a body styled by Geoff Lawson — a silhouette so clean that it remained largely unchanged throughout its entire production run. By 2006, Jaguar had refined the formula significantly, swapping the original 4.0-liter V8 for the more capable 4.2-liter AJ-V8, upgrading the transmission, and adding a full suite of modern safety and driver assistance technology without disturbing the car's classically British character. This particular 2006 Jaguar XK8 carries Victory Edition badging, a special designation Jaguar applied during the final production years of the X100 generation to mark the end of a significant era. The Victory Edition included a curated set of appearance and equipment upgrades intended to send the platform out with distinction, and this car is equipped accordingly. It is finished in white over a tan leather interior — a combination that works well in the Florida climate and photographs honestly. The odometer shows 125,901 miles, which on an XK8 with a properly maintained 4.2-liter V8 is a vehicle that still has considerable life ahead of it. The underbody photos included in this listing are worth your time. The floorpan, subframes, and suspension components are solid and consistent with a car that spent its life in a dry or warm climate — no rot, no patchwork, no surprises hiding underneath. For collectors and enthusiasts who follow the XK8 market, there is a growing consensus that the 4.2-liter cars — particularly the final-year convertibles — are reaching a value floor and beginning to attract serious attention. These are now nearly two decades old, they carry genuine Jaguar V8 character, and well-optioned survivors are becoming harder to find at any price. Jaguar introduced the 4.2 for the 2003 model year, bringing with it increased displacement, revised cylinder head porting, and a new drive-by-wire throttle system. In the naturally aspirated XK8 application, the 4.2-liter engine produced 294 horsepower and 303 lb-ft of torque, giving the car genuine capability on the highway while remaining smooth enough for relaxed open-top cruising. It is paired here with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which replaced the earlier 5-speed unit and notably improved both fuel economy and the refinement of the gearchanges at highway speeds. The XK8's platform carries its weight well. Suspension is fully independent at all four corners — double wishbones up front and a complex rear setup with coil springs and telescopic dampers — which gives it a composed, well-controlled ride that a softer Grand Tourer cannot replicate. The underbody images in this listing show the structure clearly. The front subframe area, rear cradle, and exhaust routing all present clean
