The W164 is far more "car-like" than the W163, maybe call it "refined". Not a whole lot to watch out for on the W164, other than sunroof gears/assembly, which will set you back several thousand $$$ to resolve, and the lack of a tow package, because they're near impossible to retrofit and would be very expensive to attempt. Telematics aren't great on the early models, with a COMAND unit that is a limited production model without an auxiliary input. You can retrofit an aftermarket unit, but that's pricey to do as well - better off using a BT dongle. The car is in Scottsdale, Arizona. The car is in very good condition and has been regularly maintained. A cross country trip should be no issue. The one thing you will need is new tires, and you can choose those according to where you live and driving conditions. I just took photos of the underside of the car and they should be uploaded soon. The car was in Vancouver B.C from 2006 to 2010, before we moved to Arizona. Vancouver has a mild climate similar to Seattle. I am not aware of any rust. You are welcome to have the car inspected prior to the close of the auction.
