2006 Panoz Esperante

Vehicle Description 2006 Panoz Esperante $46,995 When it comes to owning an exotic-looking sports car, most people believe that it will cost them their life savings. They then spend the entirety of their ownership handling their newfound treasure with kid gloves, afraid of a temperamental breakdown that some high-end supercars are known for. But, with this 2006 Panoz Esperante we see here today, none of those concerns apply. Although often overlooked, it is almost impossible to forget once you see it. Yes, the original Black Magic paint helps, as does the power convertible top and low-slung curves. Perhaps the most enticing aspect of this sports car, other than its barely used 48,800 actual miles on the odometer, is the fact that there are believed to be fewer than 250 of these cars created over its entire eight-year production run, making it as collectible as it gets. Hop inside this thrilling two-seat sportster, and you're treated to a clean and sleek tan black leather interior. Strap in, and you are held snugly in place by supportive yet plush bucket seats as a set of racy white-faced gauges stares back at you, centered on the dashboard beyond the compact three-spoke steering wheel. Power locks, windows, air conditioning, and an upgraded Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit offer plenty of soundtrack options for road or track. Powering this pocket rocket is a Mustang-sourced 4.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V-8 engine. From the factory, this modular small-block made an impressive 305 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. That rev-happy power is routed through a tried-and-true five-speed manual transmission before heading to the rear wheels. Thanks to a low curb weight of just under 3,300 pounds, this powerful drop top has been clocked from 0-60 mph in the low-five-second range, making it as exciting as it is rare.
